What is the difference between pointe shoes and russian ballet shoes?

For my pre pointe class we need russian ballet shoes so i was just wondering what the difference was between them before i purchased either one.
dance experts please help!

I have heard of Russian Ballet Pointe shoes (or Russian Pointe.) But, I have no idea what other type of Russian ballet shoes your teacher is talking about. She must mean the pointe shoe brand. I am surprised she recommends that shoe because it is not really a beginner pointe shoe unless you have really high arches. They are kind of noisy too. I would ask my teacher for more specifics. It is always best to get a Pointe shoe that is right for your foot instead of trying to fit you foot in a shoe that doesn’t work for you. Especially for a beginner.
I, like most serious ballet dancers, have never used any demi pointe shoes, but went right into pointe shoes when I was ready. Perhaps it is a type of demi point? Most schools don’t use demi point shoes because you are in them for maybe a month at best (if you dance every day) and then go on to regular pointe shoes. My suggestion would be to ask and get better clarification as to what your teacher wants.

First position
When one stands with the feet heel to heel in the shape of a "-", arms should be out like you’re holding a beachball with your hands about even to your belly button.

Fourth position
Position where the feet are separated by one foot’s distance, legs overlapping, the heel being placed at the toe of the other foot.

Fifth position
Similar to Fourth position above, however the feet are touching toe to heel, legs overlapping at about the knees hands are up above your head, your arms creating an oval shape.

Fouetté
French: "To whip"; pronounced ‘fweh-TAY’. A movement on one leg that requires the dancer to change the hip and torso direction, usually with a whiplike sharpness, while maintaining the leg direction and position. Can also be done in the air.

Fouetté en tournant
The famous 32 fouettés that mark a virtuosic high point in Swan Lake and other ballets are actually fouettés en tournant (turning), where it is the working leg, not the torso, that does the whipping movement. Each fouetté involves the dancer standing momentarily on flat foot with the supporting knee bent as the other (’working’) leg is extended in front then whipped round to the side, creating the impetus to spin one turn as the working foot is then pulled in to touch the supporting knee and the dancer executes a relevé, jumping onto pointe. Done 32 times in sequence without touching the working leg to the ground (or falling over, ‘travelling’ off the stage, etc.) is a bravura performance designed to express the strength, triumph and indomitability of the character. And, of course, show of the technical brilliance of the ballerina. Male dancers do a variant usually keeping the leg out – they’re not en pointe.

Hey. I am looking for a website that gives you ideas on what kind of moves you can put into a dance. I would like your answers to moves that can be put into ballet dances, tap dances and modern dances. Please can someone give me the answer can someone give me a few websites on ballet, tap and modern moves that i can put into dances. Someone that takes dancing seriously can answer, but no stupid answers please.

If you are looking for some new moves and ideas, go to http://www.danceplug.com/plug-away. They have dance combinations and exercises in ballet, tap, contemporary and other styles too. Their classes are taught by great choreographers/teachers from L.A. You have to pay a small fee for it, but it’s definitely worth it (free to register).
